About - Emma Madison
Emma Madison is an Alabama native growing up in Fayette where she started riding in 2006 at the age of 5.
She got her start showing with the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association where she had a very successful junior career.
Emma got her first pony, Olympian’s Dainty Rose “Maddy”, now known as Up Til Dawn, in 2010 when the pony was just 4 years old. The duo showed from the walk trot all the way to the Pony Finals, during their 7 year partnership. They competed at Pony Finals in both 2015 (medium greens) and 2016 (medium ponies and pony medal). Up Til Dawn is still actively showing on the west coast of the United States and in Canada. Fun fact, you can catch a glimpse of Maddy at The Equestrian Hotel at WEC Ocala, as she has a portrait hanging there.
During her time showing in the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association as a junior Emma earned:
15 State Titles
High Pony Medium Pony - 2013 & 2015
Thoroughbred High Point - 2018
Countless top 5 overall year end awards in hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions.
Scholarship Award Winner 2019
Emma was a working student for the majority of her junior career and took great pride in doing the majority of the care of her equine partners. Once she graduated high school in 2019 Emma took on a job as groom/rider where she worked with upper level jumpers on the national circuit. This position including grooming at indoors and for numerous national grand prixes. Emma went on to declare professional status at the end of 2019.
As a professional, Emma has continued to participate in the AHJA both as a rider and trainer.
Her professional accolades include:
Winner of the $500 Professional Derby 2023
Winner of the Trainer Equitation Challenge 2024
Pat Hoyle Sportsmanship Award Winner 2023
AHJA Board Member 2020-2023
Many year end overall placings including multiple tri-colors on a variety of horses
Helped riders earn countless state titles and overall awards.
She continues to donate her time to the association and enjoys helping with the AHJA junior board.
Emma’s role at Fox Lake Farm calls for her to split her time between the USEF circuit and the local circuit helping riders transition up the levels.
While Emma prizes herself on instilling good foundation of horsemanship within her students she still loves the show ring. Emma continues to show both her personal horse Captivating, who she purchased in 2021 as a yearling, as well as showing both hunters and jumpers for clients.
She has a soft ride that helps horses gain confidence and creates a clear line of communication that is easy for owners to follow when it’s their time to shine. Emma is also our in house pony rider!
Emma’s favorite part of Fox Lake Farm is, “The attention to detail and the mentality of horse first! It’s also such a pleasure to watch our rider’s make progress with their equine counterparts.”
