Summer Show Updates

Fox Lake Farm had a fantastic August and September of showing despite some inclement weather that tried to keep us down. We did two weeks at Equus Event’s Atlanta Summer Fest and two weeks at Brownland and here are some of the highlights of our time.

At Chatt Hills, we had many champion and reserves. Clayton Mullis and Tower Lux received reserve and came in first in the Child/Adult Jumper Classic. Abby Beaty and Prof De La Roque rode a 3rd in the Child/Adult Jumper Classic and to reserve, tying with Clayton. Julia McAdam and Cinsational took home a champion in the Older Children’s hunters. Dani Moraski and Sydney Velazquez’s Caredan Z were reserve and Dani was also reserve on Julia McAdam’s Cinsational.

Sydney Velazquez and Caredan Z were 2nd in the Pre-Children’s Hunter Challenge, getting into the show ring after being away for a while. Amanda Owings and Keri Rankin’s Odessa rode to many 2nds including a second in the classic in the Younger Adult Hunters.

Kate Knowles took her new horse No Fear to Chatt Hills for their first outing together and are a perfect pair! They did such a fantastic job there, that at Brownland they moved up to the 1.0M jumpers.

Anna Brett Hyde is also getting used to her new mounts with much success at both Chatt Hills and Brownland. Anna Brett keeps getting more confident and growing with Carele and Luminous and we are so excited to see her excel in future classes!

Right after Chatt Hills, Campbell Swanner and Eclips V travelled up to Traverse City for Junior Hunter Finals. We are so ecstatic with how they did at their first finals together. Campbell had to prep and school Chin for finals and did an incredible job taking what she learned at home and applying it. We are so proud of you and Chin! Thank you to Ashley Morrison for training her at finals and taking care of Campbell and Chin.

The last Sunday of Brownland was cancelled due to the weather, but all is well because our clients got fantastic riding in before the weather.

Our Children’s Hunters took top ribbons including a first for Lauren Velazquez and Balladeer, Julia McAdam and Cinsational, and Hannah Banks and Corrado came out on top in the classic.

Mimi Colette rode At Last to a first in the handy round of the 3’6” Junior Hunters. Sydney Velazquez and Caredan Z received top ribbons when they moved up to 2’9” in a competitive Modified Child/Adult Division. Romney Velazquez and A Timely Affair were 2nd and 1st in the Middle Adult Hunters. Hagen Blackwell and Vegas De Gravelotte earned multiple 2nds and other top ribbons in the 3’6” Junior Hunters after being out of showing for a while.

At Brownland we had to say goodbye to Julia King and C Beyond, but before they left, they took home top ribbons in the Children’s Hunters, including a 3rd in the classic. We are sad to see them go, but we are so excited for their new adventure living in Tennessee and look forward to seeing them at horse shows! Julia, best of luck and we will miss you!
